Nintendo always seems to be reusing their old content and characters on every generation of gaming console since the very beginning. Just recently though, Nintendo decided to revive a corpse from the far past. The original game was released 20 years ago (1989 for those who refuse to learn Math!) You can check out A Boy and His Blob right here on Old School Apps if you've never tried it. It's a game where you play a boy (duh) with a pet blob (duhx2!). You are on a mission to help your pet Blob save his home planet. To do this you must feed your gooey friend jelly beans - but be warned, different jelly beans have different effects. You can use your blob as a trampoline, a rocket ship, an air bubble, as an umbrella, and even to create holes in the ground. After transforming your blob, you can whistle to get him to return to his original blob-like shape.
Just recently (in October), Nintendo decided to bring these guys back to the gaming industry with a huge face lift from the original gameplay experience. It has a more cartoonish look than the original game and seems to be more kid-friendly (not that the original game isn't), I'm sure my brother will try this game out since he has a Wii and was a fan of the original game. We'll see Read on to see "A Boy and His Blob" media for both the old game and the new game. The original game can be seen in this video: Want to try it? Play A Boy and His Blob on Old School Apps right now! The remake of the game for the Nintendo Wii can be seen in this video:
