Nintendo Wii Price Slash

Nintendo Wii

It's good to see after 3 years, the Nintendo Wii has decided to drop it's price by 20%. You can now pick this baby up for $200, and it's about time if you ask me. The Nintendo Wii may have some attractive elements to it, but as a gaming system itself, I always felt it was lacking quality game titles that both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 seemed to pick up. The fact that your Wii doesn't function as a DVD player or a Blu-ray player (but who really cares about Blu-ray), really baffled me. It seems like something that should have been included as a standard. Considering their competition on the "last Gen" systems had built in CD/DVD players, you'd think that Nintendo would get on the ball and include one in their next system. The Nintendo Wii offers a unique user interface which is going to be available on both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 sometime next year, after that, what would the real advantage of the Nintendo Wii be? It's cute? It's tiny? You can play more Mario games than you can shake a stick at? I'm not sure.
