Galaga
Released in 1988 on the NES, but originally in 1981 as a sequel to Galaxian. In Galaga your mission is pretty simple. You control a tiny spaceship and your job is to destroy waves of enemy spaceships. You'll score points for each ship you destroy and you can pick up a lot of bonuses along the way. You never truly win in Galaga. It's simple, it's fantastic, and it's re-playable - you're most likely going to love this game or hate it.
