Battle Chess
Battle Chess was released in 1990 by Data East. This is one of those more enjoyable retro chess games. After making your move, you get to watch your chess piece walk (and I do mean walk) slowly to the spot you picked. If a piece occupies it, the two pieces are forced to battle. Fun little animations is what makes this game stand out from the handful of other chess games of it's time.
