Ever wonder what one of your favorite games of today would like if it were released in the 80's? Take Eric Ruth, who has recreated Valve's Left 4 Dead with an 8-bit feel. It has all the games original campaigns, sprites of the special infected and all for 2 players to play through, no four player stuff here! Just in case you were wondering, Valve apparently finds the project "Hilarious". Ruth reveals that he would like to release the full game in January 2010 for the PC, as a free download.

Its nice to see people going out of there way to make games such as this, giving the hot titles of the today a nice retro remake. Check out more below for a link to Ruth's YouTube video of his progress on the game so far.

 

What's New on Old School Apps Vol 13

Lucky 13. I figured I'd post an update with a list of all the new games we've added over the last month or 2, for those who may be interested. We're still working hard on some other projects but Old School Apps is far from finished. Expect a lot more updating, content, and features in time.

Just a quick update. We've been busy working on a few non-abandonware related projects but don't worry, we haven't forgotten about these games and their importance, so neither should you!. In honor of that, we have added 10 new titles to the Online Arcade. Check them out and enjoy! (note: if you have any problems with a particular game, please contact us so we can fix any known issues immediately.) We're working on getting our act together again so expect weekly updates to the arcade once again.
